The Pomegranate Collection
One of the things I love about Mediterranean folk embroidery is the wide variety of motifs and colors. As a designer, it's an endlessly fascinating world and I always have more designs in process than I can possibly sample stitch, which leads me to difficult decisions in trying to figure out which designs to stitch and release as patterns and kits. I wanted to find a way to share pretty much everything I was working on and so I am happy to announce
The Pomegranate Collection download patterns!
In Mediterranean art, the pomegranate is associated with abundance, beauty, and regeneration and I thought it was a fitting symbol for this collection of patterns that are inspired by historic textiles. One the greatest joys of my work is seeing how these designs are reaching a new generation of stitchers. These beautiful and traditional designs are being reclaimed and revitalized in new and wonderful ways, in the same manner textiles have been passed along--literally hand to hand--through the centuries. Even though we live in a fast-paced modern world, I love that there is still a community of people who choose to work with needle and thread to create new works of textile art!
Currently, each of these designs is available only as a download. However, if you stitch one of these designs and send it to me to photograph so it can be released as a kit or pattern, you'll receive a $50 credit towards your next purchase
(and you'll get your embroidery back, so it's a win-win if you're looking for a way to support your stitching habit!).
