This intricate medallion design originates in embroidery designs that were used on the island of Rhodes to create elaborate bed curtains and tents, with the medallion being worked multiple times to create a long row of embroidery. Traditionally worked in red and blue, I have opted for a softer palette of taupe and blue-gray.
Wonderful as a wall hanging or cushion cover, this gorgeous design will be highly treasured!

A few words about this design: I recently found a lovely paisely fabric that I'm hoping to use as the lining to turn this design into a wall hanging, so if you want to stitch this to submit the sample, please let me know as I expect to be stitching it by early March.
