Exquisite Kopanelli bobbin lace cloth made entirely by hand. This type of needlework is a very delicate, traditional technique and is made mainly in the Greek islands of the Cyclades, Crete, Aegina, and Salamina. Its name comes from the sound the bobbins make as the lace is being working. The figure worked in the center began as the figure of Eros (Love) but through the Byzantine era transformed into the guardian angels of the house.See the video of a Greek woman making bobbin lace on our Demos page.
