This very special design is the first heirloom I embroidered for my granddaughter, Myriam. I saw the original motif on an embroidered cushion cover made in the Cyclades Islands in the 1700s and I fell in love with its fresh and cheery flowers and vines. Once I added corner motifs, it looked like a lovely fenced garden. I kept the original soft colorway of yellow and green which is rather unique among Greek island embroideries and when worked on ivory linen, it makes for a stunning heirloom!
