Cushions with elaborately embroidered covers were used widely in homes throughout the Greek islands, serving as a creative way to soften and beautify built in beds and benches. This elegant design from the Cyclades islands features a central star motif set in diamonds outlined with sawtooth edging. A garnet background is set off with classic “Santorini blue” and soft olive green, forming a striking colorway that looks beautiful as either a table runner or mat, or as a charming cushion cover.
This is a multi-size pattern and the instructions include a large corner chart for ease of working and then full-size charts showing how many repeats to work for a small or large cushion cover/square mat and a small or large table runner.
